Industrial manipulators are designed to mechanize the movement of loads, such as products, workpieces or finished products, during the production cycle. This includes loading presses and machines, transferring parts, palletizing, stacking, assembly and welding operations. The aim is to reduce manual labor and improve efficiency. Manipulators enable operators to carry out operations with heavy or unbalanced loads effortlessly (as the manipulator compensates for the weight of the product) and with no restrictions on trajectory or speed (as the manipulator moves the product with the same accuracy and speed as guided by the operator along the trajectory). The use of the manipulator can be compared to the use of exoskeletons. The operator is relieved of the weight of the load to be carried, and can move it as quickly and accurately as they would with their own arm movements.
