Industrial Manipulators with electromechanical drive (SHBM-175-M) are designed for safe, precise, and ergonomic lifting and handling of loads weighing up to 175 kg. The equipment combines an electromechanical lifting mechanism with a balanced articulated linkage structure, allowing the operator to move loads smoothly and accurately with minimal physical effort.
Purpose and Design Features
The SHBM-175-M manipulator is intended for industrial applications where manual lifting and handling operations need to be mechanized while maintaining high positioning accuracy and full operator control. The model is suitable for production areas, assembly stations, machine servicing zones, and workplaces with restricted overhead access where conventional cable lifting systems, cranes, or hoists are difficult to use.
The articulated boom consists of a main and secondary arm balanced by a spring system. This design enables horizontal load movement with virtually no effort from the operator: the weight of the load is compensated, and only the inertia of the object needs to be overcome at the start of movement. As a result, the manipulator improves ergonomics, reduces operator fatigue, and ensures high repeatability during production operations.
Standardization and Compatibility with Grippers
The SHBM-175-M can be fitted with interchangeable load-handling devices specified in the technical requirements. The rigid mounting system ensures secure load holding during operation and allows the manipulator to work with loads of various shapes, including suspended containers, machine tools, furnaces, and equipment with restricted overhead access.
Gripper replacement can be performed quickly without structural modifications. This makes the manipulator a flexible solution for production sites where different products, components, or auxiliary equipment are handled within the same working area.
Control System
The SHBM-175-M manipulator is equipped with a combined control system that integrates manual operation with an electromechanical lifting drive. Vertical movement is controlled manually using a handle mounted on the gripper head, while the lifting mechanism provides smooth and stable upward and downward movement.
The movement speed depends on the handle tilt angle: the greater the angle, the higher the speed. When released, the handle automatically returns to the neutral position, and the load stops at the current height. Boom rotation is performed by an electromechanical drive, ensuring stable and controlled 360° rotation around the vertical axis.
The control system is intuitive and suitable for one-hand operation. Operator training usually takes only a few hours.
Manipulator Structure
The SHBM-175-M includes the following main components:
- Drive head — mounted on the support structure via a rotary support unit and provides full 360° boom rotation around the vertical axis. All rotating units are mounted on rolling bearings, ensuring smooth and stable movement even under load.
- Articulated boom — consists of a main and secondary arm connected by a balanced linkage system. The spring balancing mechanism allows the load to be moved horizontally with minimal effort.
- Gripper head — located at the end of the boom and capable of rotating around the vertical axis. It is equipped with a rigid mounting interface for interchangeable load-handling devices, making it suitable for handling complex-shaped loads and working in areas with restricted access.
- Control handle — located on the gripper head and used to control vertical load movement, as well as to guide horizontal movement. When the handle is tilted upward or downward, the load moves in the corresponding direction.
- Lifting drive system — includes an electric motor with an electromagnetic brake, a gear motor, and a rack-and-pinion lifting mechanism. This system ensures stable operation and precise adjustment of lifting and lowering speed.
- Protection system — includes limit switches, status indication, and an emergency stop button located near the control handle.
The safety system includes:
- Emergency stop button — located near the control handle; when pressed, the lifting mechanism immediately stops the load at the current position;
- Status indication — displays power connection and variable frequency drive operating status;
- Limit switches — restrict maximum lifting and lowering positions, preventing travel beyond the permissible stroke.
Additional features:
- one-hand operation capability for convenient handling and fast operator adaptation;
- synchronized operation of several manipulators for handling long loads such as beams, pipes, and rails;
- operation in areas with restricted overhead access where cranes or hoists cannot be used;
- rigid gripper mounting for servicing suspended containers, furnaces, machine tools, and other equipment with protruding upper elements;
- quick operator training, usually requiring only a few hours.
The manipulator is designed for intensive industrial operation where high positioning accuracy, safe handling, and minimal operator fatigue are required.
